Toni Silber-Delerive
Toni Silber-Delerive’s imaginative aerial landscapes
are being presented by the Art Gallery at the Rockefeller State Park Preserve April 3 through
May 8, 2010. A reception honoring the artist will take place on April 11th, 1-4 pm.

Every colorful landscape form has its own integrity and meaning, uninhabited by man, frequently created by man. Toni’s talent is stamped upon each site, assimilating all details
and returning these to us, enriched by her vision. Her reverence for the man-made and
the natural are interpreted in combinations of abstract and representational images.

Viewed from elevated positions such as airlines and roof tops of buildings, she interprets urban and rural, agrarian and industrial worlds, always conveying a narrative while retaining
the authenticity of the location. Her explorations have no boundaries as she focuses upon
the aesthetics, shape and color of a potential composition employing a modern perspective as
she develops a dimensional visual vocabulary for the image upon the flat surface of a canvas.
Her broad range of subjects are unexpected chronicling man’s architectural achievements
as viewed in paintings of “Dusseldorf”, “The Federal Snake Building “ and the “Sony Center”,
Berlin. Toni’s series of multiple-like housing depicts a culture flowering from out of the
masses including abstract patterned paintings, “New Jersey Subdivision”, and “Colorful Neighborhood”.
Compositions are characterized by roof tops defining their country of origin. Earth-hued
roof tops of a Tuscany village are subdued in comparison to the bright and festive rooftops of her “Czech Republic” painting
The exhibit experience offers a broad range of themes with the inclusion of “The Manhattan
Water Tanks”, “Prague City” and the “Nottinghamshire Coal Mine”, remarkably
compelling in their hard-edged construction. In contrast, Toni’s bucolic landscapes
“Farmland” and “Sunken Garden” reflect her passion for abstract patterns. The only
image in which she people patterns is in context with the unparalleled Christo flags
display amidst the Central Park environs. “The Gates” is a complex painting of symbolic
